Effective 18 September 2026 · Vensofts ("we", "us") · Magic Gallery for macOS
Summary: Magic Gallery does not collect, store or transmit your personal data or your photos. Everything happens on your Mac.
Data we collect
None. Magic Gallery has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not receive your photos, edits, tags, locations, faces or usage information.
What stays on your Mac
Photos are read in place from folders you choose or from your Apple Photos library (with your permission). They are never copied elsewhere.
Edits, ratings, tags and collections are stored in the app's sandboxed container (~/Library/Containers/com.vensofts.magicgallery) and, only if you enable it, as .mgedit sidecar files next to your photos.
On-device analysis (Smart Tags, text recognition, focus score, duplicate fingerprints, face grouping) is performed by Apple's Vision framework on your Mac. Results are stored locally and can be disabled in Settings.
Network use
Place names. To label locations, the app sends photo GPS coordinates to Apple's geocoding service (CLGeocoder) and caches the resulting place names locally. This is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. No photo content or identifiers are sent. You can avoid this by not adding photos with location data.
Maps. Map tiles are provided by Apple Maps (MapKit).
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
Permissions
Magic Gallery asks for access only to folders you open and, optionally, to your Photos library. These permissions can be revoked at any time in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security.
Children
Magic Gallery is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
