Sooner or later someone asks for a bank statement, a pay stub,
a passport, a medical record. They need the document; they do not need
everything on it. Blackout finds the details a stranger shouldn't get and
removes them from a copy — on your device, with nothing uploaded.
The details are deleted from the file, not covered with a
box. Hidden data — author, dates, comment authors, attachments, the GPS
position inside a photo — is stripped. Every page is watermarked with who it
is for. The original is never touched.
How it works
Say what you're sharing — a statement, a pay stub, an ID, a medical or tax record — and open it from Files, Photos, the camera or any app's share sheet.
Review what was found — Social Security and account numbers, routing and card numbers, IBANs, phone numbers, emails, addresses, dates of birth, ID numbers, faces, barcodes — each a hide-or-keep toggle drawn on the page. Hide every occurrence of a name, or mark anything yourself.
Prepare the copy — watermark, hidden-data removal and flattening are on by default. Add a stamp, a header, page numbers, a signature; send only some pages, or combine several files.
Share it — or show it in person on your screen, so nothing leaves the device at all. Every share is logged: who, when, what was hidden.
Free and Pro
The whole job — find, review, remove, strip, watermark, share — is free for
three copies a month. Blackout Pro removes the limit and adds
password protection, the itemised hidden-data report and every optional
preparation step, for US$9.99 per year, shareable with your family group. It
renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do at any time in
Settings. No account is needed either way — see the terms.
